The Transitions Initiative is pleased to present the conference report for PS Transitions: Collaborative Solutions for Recruitment and Retention.
This report highlights the dynamic discussion that occurred between public servants of all levels, academics and students at our September 2002 conference on effective human resources management for the policy community in the federal public service. At the conference, we encouraged participants to draw their own conclusions and work with others to develop related actions. As you read the report, we invite you to do the same.
On behalf of the Transitions Initiative, I would once again like to thank all of you for your support and participation at PS Transitions: Collaborative Solutions for Recruitment and Retention. It is a mark of your excellent ideas that representatives from central agencies on our closing panel expressed their support for this initiative and committed to advance some of the solutions you developed. To ensure proper follow-up, we have placed the report on our website, along with copies of several presentations and speeches given at the conference. Again, thanks for your support,
Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for all the useful resources.
I am scheduled to write an EC-03 exam asessing these merit criteria:
Knowledge of stakeholder engagement
Thinking things through
What kind of questions should I prepare for?
What is the best way to prepare for such questions?
Thanks.
Hi Georgina,
As per the guide, there are three types of questions — Tell us of a time when (experience); What would you do in this situation (applied); this job requires a lot of (X), how would you approach it (more abstract, principles).
Equally, as per the guide, take your headings like stakeholder engagement and do a google search to see what that means. You’ll get 1000s of hits, so you might want to add Government of Canada to the search as well, it’ll give you the main headings you need. SImilarly for thinking things through.
Paul
THANK!
